Coach
Growing up in New Zealand, I immersed myself in every sport I could find. From netball and running to basketball, volleyball, and squash, my childhood was a whirlwind of athletic pursuits. In my final year of university in 2012, I discovered CrossFit and my life was forever changed. I have been competing & coaching ever since.
Over the years, I've evolved significantly as a coach. My journey has taken me from New Zealand to the UK, Qatar, and now the US, allowing me to build relationships with people from all over the world. This diverse experience has not only deepened my knowledge and expertise but also enriched my ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
One of the most challenging aspects of my athletic journey has been overcoming injuries while training for high-level competitions. The frustration of having to step back from competing to recover has taught me invaluable lessons about resilience and perspective. My identity isn't defined by my athletic achievements; it's shaped by the kind of person I am and how I treat others. This realization has been a pivotal turning point, helping me focus on what truly matters.
My passion for coaching is rooted in helping others achieve their best, particularly those who are new to CrossFit. While I enjoy breaking down technical movements like muscle-ups and handstand walking, my greatest satisfaction comes from teaching new members how to lift safely. I tailor my coaching style to suit all levels, ensuring that even beginners can understand and execute movements safely and effectively. I know how confusing the terminology can be and how challenging it is to get your body to cooperate with what you're learning. My goal is to make this journey as easy and enjoyable as possible, all while ensuring you have a great time.
